Eligible participants will be compensated for travel-related costs.
Eligibility Criteria
You may be eligible to take part if you:
- Are over 18 years old
- Have a BMI of ≥30, OR
- Have a BMI of ≥27 and have a current diagnosis of at least 1 of the following weight-related conditions: Hypertension, Dyslipidemia or hyperlipidemia, Cardiovascular disease, Obstructive sleep apnea.
Those with a history of type 1 or 2 diabetes are unfortunately not able to participate.
Other inclusion and exclusion criteria may apply.

Description
Overweight and obesity are complex health conditions that can be caused by several factors such as genetics, environment, hormones, or other medical conditions. The struggle to maintain a healthy weight can be a lifelong challenge for many, and significant weight loss cannot always be achieved through diet and exercise alone.
Medications called GLP-1RA can reduce body weight, improve glucose control and lead to improved cardiovascular outcomes for people living with obesity n or overweight. Medications currently available are administered via a subcutaneous injection.
What to expect
We are conducting a research study exploring an oral medication of GLP-1RA to offer an easier more convenient method of treating people living with obesity or overweight.
The study aims to determine if the investigational oral treatment is more effective for weight loss than a placebo after 26 weeks.
Participants must be able to attend clinic visits over a period of 38 weeks. Eligible participants will be compensated for travel-related costs.
