Overview

Sexual health is essential to overall well-being, encompassing physical, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality. It involves managing conditions such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV/AIDS, and reproductive health issues with sensitivity and care.

Treatment progress

Current treatments for sexual health conditions include antibiotics for STIs, antiretrovirals for HIV/AIDS management, and various therapies for reproductive and sexual dysfunction issues. Clinical research plays a vital role in advancing these treatments, focusing on developing new drugs with fewer side effects and more significant benefits. Studies are also exploring preventive vaccines for conditions like HPV and HIV. Clinical trials are crucial for understanding better disease mechanisms and treatment responses.

Our history

Momentum Clinical Research has vast experience in conducting sexual health research studies, below are just a selection of the studies we have been involved in.

Previous studies

Momentum's recent sexual health research has included:

  •  A potential first-in-class oral antibiotic with a novel mechanism of action for uncomplicated urogenital gonorrhoea in adolescents and adults.
  • A clinical study for a potential long-acting oral antiviral medication that aims to suppress recurrent episodes of genital herpes.
  • An investigational once-daily combination medication for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in people on antiretroviral therapy.
  • A study looking at the effect of switching HIV patients to a new investigational medication to treat HIV.
  • Evaluating the antiretroviral activity, safety and tolerability of a potential new medication in HIV-1 infected treatment-naive participants.
  • A study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a potential long-acting treatment dosed every 6 months in virologically suppressed adults with HIV-1 infection.
  • A study to compare a new potential treatment with the current therapy of people with HIV-1 who are currently on stable complex treatment regimes.
