Dr King Cheung

Dr. Cheung is a clinical researcher at Momentum Clinical Research Sunshine, specialising in chronic weight management, diabetes, cardiometabolic disorders, osteoarthritis and cardiovascular outcome studies. With over 5 years of experience in clinical trials, he is deeply inspired by the progression of drug development and its potential to address unmet clinical needs, particularly for patients living with conditions that currently lack effective treatment options.  

Dr. Cheung earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Melbourne in 2016. Over the years, Dr. Cheung has developed a strong passion for chronic weight management, cardiometabolic disorders, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and remains fully committed to advancing clinical research in these areas.  

Dr. Cheung has successfully completed over 15 studies as a Principal Investigator (PI) and more than 50 studies as a Sub-Investigator (SI). These studies span various therapeutic areas, including rheumatology, dermatology, biologics, vaccines, cardiometabolic disorders, diabetes, chronic weight management, cardiovascular disease and osteoarthritis, contributing to significant advancements in clinical research.  

Prior to joining Momentum Sunshine, Dr. Cheung worked at Emeritus Research Camberwell, where he gained extensive experience across a broad range of therapeutic areas.  He also served as the Key Reviewer at the site—a role responsible for assessing the feasibility of new clinical studies to support their successful activation. Through the comprehensive evaluation of over 100 study protocols, he has provided strategic feedback to Clinical Research Organisations and Sponsors to optimise study design, execution, and participant recruitment. 

Outside of clinical work, he enjoys travelling, bodybuilding and listening to self-empowering podcasts.
