Group A streptococcal (GAS) pharyngitis, commonly known as Strep A or Strep Throat, is a common bacterial infection that can cause a severe sore throat, fever, and difficulty swallowing. It spreads easily and is especially common in children and young people.
Most sore throats are caused by viruses and get better on their own. However, Strep A is different and usually requires antibiotics to prevent complications and support recovery.
Testing for Strep A can sometimes take 1–2 days if samples are sent to a laboratory. This can delay getting the right treatment or lead to antibiotics being used when they may not be needed.
Momentum conducts clinical research studies that explore potential new tests designed to detect Strep A. Register your interest now and find out if one of our research studies is a good fit for you.
All study treatments are free of charge and participants are paid for any study related costs.
