Migraine Study

A Migraine is more than simple headaches. These episodes can bring intense throbbing pain and are often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine attacks can persist for hours or even days, deeply impacting your ability to carry out everyday activities and enjoy life.

While treatments are available, many individuals still struggle with managing their symptoms effectively. Current therapies, including medications designed to alleviate symptoms and prevent future episodes, don't work for everyone and can sometimes lead to significant side effects. This underscores the urgent need for innovative treatments.

This study investigates a new potential medication intended to provide relief right when symptoms start, aiming to prevent them from escalating into full-blown attacks. This could offer a promising new avenue for those seeking more effective migraine management.

Potential participants start with a screening visit at our clinic to determine if the study is right for you. If the study is suitable, you will then be invited to attend a randomisation visit. At this visit, participants will be randomly assigned to a treatment group and receive study-related training, and a supervised test dose of the study medication. 

You will then be provided with a single dose of the study medication to use at home following the onset of a migraine attack. 

Throughout the study, participants will maintain a detailed electronic diary, logging any symptoms experienced and the effectiveness of the medication. 

Following your migraine episode, a follow-up visit will be scheduled at our clinic. During this visit, our professional medical team will conduct further tests and assessments to monitor your progress and health.
