Locations
Hyperlipidemia is a condition where the level of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), often called ‘bad cholesterol’ is too high in the blood. LDL-C can build up in the walls of blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke over time. Because high LDL-C usually causes no symptoms, many people are unaware they have it until serious health problems develop. It is one of the most common health conditions worldwide, affecting millions. Living with high LDL-C can be stressful, as it often requires ongoing monitoring and treatment to protect long-term heart and overall health.
Managing high LDL-C usually involves a combination of lifestyle changes such as healthy eating, exercise and weight management, along with cholesterol-lowering medicines, most commonly statins. While effective for many, some people do not reach their target LDL-C levels or cannot tolerate current treatments.
Clinical research exploring new approaches, including innovative oral medicines and combination therapies designed to reduce LDL-C and protect against cardiovascular disease more powerfully.
This study is exploring whether combining an investigational oral treatment that blocks PCSK9 (a protein that increases LDL-C) with an approved statin treatment, can:
- Lower LDL-C more effectively
- Reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke
- Improve long-term cardiovascular health
Participants will be randomly assigned to receive a daily oral dose of either:
You will attend clinic visits for regular health checks, including cholesterol blood tests, blood pressure monitoring and safety assessments. Your health and well-being are important to us and will be closely monitored by an experienced medical team throughout the study.
