Flu Vaccine Study

As we age, our immune system can become weaker, making it harder to fight off infections like the influenza virus. Older adults are at a higher risk of developing severe illness or complications from the flu such as pneumonia, exacerbation of existing health conditions and in severe cases hospitalisation. 

Vaccines for older adults may have lower effectiveness than in younger individuals so Momentum Clinical Research are evaluating a new potential flu vaccine that has an added ingredient (called an adjuvant) to boost the body’s immune response to better protect older adults from the flu.

This research study aims to compare the effectiveness of the study vaccine with added adjuvant with a standard flu vaccine. 

Participants will receive one vaccination of either the study vaccine or a standard flu vaccine and participants’ health and immune response with be monitored throughout the duration of the study.  

Throughout the duration of the study, you will receive study-related care and be monitored closely by our professional medical team.
