Locations
Atopic Dermatitis also called eczema is a chronic skin condition that can make your skin feel dry, itchy, and sore. It can come and go, showing up as red, irritated patches that may make daily life uncomfortable and have an impact on sleep, physical comfort and self-confidence.
Flare ups of symptoms can be caused by a wide range of triggers including changes in temperature, allergens in the environment or food, stress, certain clothing or fabrics and hormonal changes. With eczema, your skin’s protective layer is a bit weaker, which makes it hard for your skin to keep moisture in, and allows for allergens and irritant to pass more easily through your skin.
There are some treatments approved for eczema, but not everyone responds to them and some patients may not be able to take the existing medications.
This study is investigating an investigational oral medicine that targets a key immune pathway involved in eczema inflammation.
Researchers are evaluating whether this treatment can:
Participants will be randomly assigned to take two oral tablets once daily for 16 weeks. The tablets will contain either the investigational treatment or a placebo (inactive substance). After this period, all participants who continue in the study will receive the investigational treatment during a 52-week open label treatment period so researchers can further assess its effects.
You’ll attend regular clinic visits for skin assessments, blood tests and study related health checks. Your safety and well-being will be closely monitored by a professional medical team throughout the study.
