Description

Acne is not just a condition found in teenagers, many adults continue to experience breakouts well into their 20s, 30s and beyond. Characterised by persistent pimples, cysts, blackheads and inflammation, adult acne can be triggered by hormonal change, stress and even skincare products. Acne is more common than many realise, affecting millions worldwide. It can be physically discomforting and can impact an individual’s confidence, emotional well-being and quality of life.

Current treatments for acne include topical creams, oral medication, and lifestyle adjustments, but not all work for everyone. Ongoing clinical research is exploring new therapies, from topical treatments to innovative vaccine treatments targeting the underlying causes of acne.

By participating in clinical research, individuals contribute to the development of more effective, personalised treatments that improve both skin health and overall-wellbeing. These advancements have the potential to enhance confidence and reduce long-term skin damage.

Momentum Clinical Research understand the frustrations of acne and are committed to advancing treatments to help those affected.

What to expect

Momentum is conducting an investigational acne mRNA vaccine study. This new investigational vaccine is designed to train the immune system to recognise Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes)—a type of bacteria that lives on the skin and can contribute to acne. By teaching the body to respond to C. acnes, the investigational vaccine aims to control or reduce the symptoms of acne.

Eligible participants will receive 2 injections (upper arm) during the study. During the study, participants will receive different dose levels of the investigational vaccine to assess its safety, effectiveness, and ability to stimulate an immune response. Participants will receive either the active study treatment or a placebo.

During the study, participants will receive ongoing health monitoring and assessments by our professional medical team free of charge.

Since acne can significantly affect self-esteem and confidence, a successful vaccine could not only improve skin health but also support mental wellbeing for millions of people worldwide.

Register your interest now to find out if you are eligible to participate in this study and help develop potential new treatment options for adults living with acne.
